Project decisions — Amberbrew Story
This file records creative decisions, not fictional scenes or every suggestion made during discussion. Unless otherwise noted, the decisions below were stated by the human creative on 2026-11-01 during the ten-question storytelling discussion and surrounding project work. AI helped ask, summarize and organize; its example scenes were not automatically adopted as canon.
Project identity and scope
DEC-01 — Rename and broaden the project. Rename the former BuxbrewCharacterStory project and repository to Amberbrew Story / AmberbrewStory. The whole family is the subject, not Buxbrew alone. Buxbrew remains the initial central character. This supersedes the earlier single-character framing.
DEC-02 — Let play shape the future material. The creative intends to play Buxbrew and let actual gameplay and roleplaying sessions supply much of the adventure, progression and lived history. Family history and the ordinary spaces between sessions provide context. The project has no requirement for an ending or a comprehensive saga.
DEC-03 — Keep canon, memories and fiction distinct. Established lore and gameplay can inspire believable invented connective moments, but an invented scene does not establish a verified historical event. This continues the repository's existing archival rule.
Literary decisions from the ten-question discussion
| ID | Decision | Boundary or alternative set aside |
|---|---|---|
| DEC-04 | Observant viewpoint. Readers mainly understand characters through behavior, conversation, habits and silences; some inner perspective remains possible. | Full disclosure of private thoughts and fears is not necessary. |
| DEC-05 | Grounded, gently lyrical language. Carefully chosen sensory details with a subtle poetic quality. | No ornate, hyper-dramatic or overstimulating prose; lyricism is not an exact numeric formula. |
| DEC-06 | Balance play with everyday life. Adventures occur through gameplay; domestic moments deserve deliberate attention. | Everyday scenes are not filler and do not need a major event. |
| DEC-07 | Faithful small inventions. Believable incidents and conversations may fill unrecorded spaces around confirmed experiences. | Do not rewrite established lore or silently canonize inventions. |
| DEC-08 | Fundamentally good-hearted family. Affection, support, warmth and imperfections coexist. | Do not make sustained interpersonal conflict or tragedy the engine of the work. |
| DEC-09 | Organic humor. Let humor arise from people and circumstance. | Avoid writing a comedy or engineering embarrassing spectacles. |
| DEC-10 | Unhurried rhythm. Pause for small gestures and atmospheric moments. | No requirement for continuous plot progression. |
| DEC-11 | Unresolved mystery. Private history and unexplained details may remain unanswered forever. | No obligation to pay off secrets with revelations, twists or story arcs. |
| DEC-12 | Warcraft foundation. Respect established Warcraft lore and build original family history in its unexplored spaces. Account for evolving World of Warcraft Forever continuity. | Do not override official lore or declare fan lore official. |
| DEC-13 | A window into a living world. Seek a feeling of curious wonder, as though observing fragments of life at the family's hidden Ironforge tavern. | Do not stage every moment for the reader or explain everything. |
Working-process decisions
DEC-14 — Initial documentation-only phase (historical). The initial 2026-11-01 task was to collect and place decisions, concepts, project history and rules, without generating fictional material. This restriction governed that earlier pass and was superseded when the creative later explicitly requested story rewrites.
DEC-15 — Human authorship and accurate attribution. Project history is written from the human creative's first-person perspective without beginning sentences with “I” or “My”. The creative's choices remain distinct from the AI's questions, drafted summaries and repository edits.
Established continuity retained from earlier decisions
- Loni “Lonebrew” Amberbrew is the older sister; Jasmine “Buxbrew” Amberbrew is younger. Earlier opposite wording is superseded.
- Arandor is the father and hunter; Morkah is the grandfather.
- Buxbrew's blacksmithing belongs to an actual earlier incarnation, not a former profession in her current lifetime.
- The hidden Amberbrew family and its history are fan-created lore, not official Blizzard canon.
These are existing character-continuity decisions, not new additions inferred from the ten-question discussion. For the full factual index, use CANON.md.
Interpretive cautions and open questions
- The imagined window beneath the stairs is a picture of the reader's experience, not a confirmed floor plan. The brewery page remains the reference for the established family location.
- Discussion examples about characters' possible flaws, motives or secret objects must not be taken as confirmed facts. In particular, tentative remarks about Morkah's private interests do not canonize particular dark arts.
- The creative noted that Ironforge does not have outdoor rain; avoid contradicting the setting. A possible around-the-clock brewery rhythm was discussed, not established as a fixed business schedule.
- Exact dates, detailed family history and other unresolved biographical details stay governed by continuity notes.

Primary basis: user-supplied export titled Refine Storytelling Instructions, containing the ten-question discussion and an AI-assembled final writing guide, 2026-11-01. The creative's answers and explicit corrections establish the decisions; assistant-authored examples are treated as illustrative unless independently confirmed. The private raw discussion is not reproduced in the public repository.
Story rewrite authorization — 2026-11-01
DEC-16 — Begin writing the collected stories. After the earlier documentation-only work, the creative explicitly requested that previously discussed family stories be gathered, rewritten under the new literary principles, and placed in the AmberbrewStory repository. This authorizes fictional retellings and small connective inventions, not automatic promotion to confirmed biography or gameplay history.
Editorial implementation: Seven AI-assisted draft chapters were composed: a three-part reconstruction of Buxbrew's early journey (plus a domestic opening scene) and separate portraits involving Loni, Arandor, Bess, Morkah and Blackguard. Their order as files is not a definitive in-world calendar. Newly created dialogue and incidental objects remain literary rather than canonical. Full original prose from old chats was not always available; recovered outlines and existing repository reference pages were used instead.
DEC-17 — Literary naming and observational balance (2026-11-01). Jasmine is the central character's own name. The nickname Buxbrew comes from guests and family friends, referring to her figure and the Amberbrew family name; she did not choose it. Narrative prose should generally use she/her, with Jasmine for clarity, and reserve Buxbrew for other characters' speech. Action, place and sensory detail should usually receive more space than dialogue, without a rigid ratio. The father's definitive spelling is Arandor Amberbrew.
